People’s money mindset starts from childhood and so education is key to people getting good advice and taking control of their finances, according to Nova partner, Valentina Osborne.

If your parents have been through rocky moments with their finances then you will want to help people avoid the same mistakes, she explained.

Osborne grew up in a large family, being one of six siblings.

“My story of getting into finances is to do with growing up as, when I was younger, there wasn’t much money in my household as my dad was a teacher and my mom was at home with six children,” she said.

Due to this, Osborne became interested with finances earlier and developed a bit of a “scarcity mindset”.
